if loving you is wrong, i don't want to be right

Photo 242

Do you do things that you know you shouldn't?

I try to be as green. I use reusable green grocery bags and do my best to use natural cleaning products.
I even gave up bleach (another smell I love)! Don't tell my mom. She'll disown me.

One thing I haven't been able to give up?

Tide.

I love the smell.

My mom, aunt and grandma all use it and have used it forever. The POWDER kind! The liquid smells different. It smells like home. There are few things nicer than pulling a sundress over my head or wrapping myself in a towel that smells like the houses and people I miss and love.

I should probably plant a tree, or something, to offset the damage I'm causing using a harmful-chemical-heavy detergent.

What are your favorite smells?

I love the smell of fresh laundry, and you're right! There is always a brand that reminds you of home. I also love the smell of lilacs. They only bloom for a few short weeks, so I sniff extra hard during that time. :)

I love the smell of my husband's deodorant. And sometimes when it is a very long day with the gaggle of children, I go in the bathroom and take a deep calming yoga breath of it, and remember that he will come home at the end of the day. I suppose it's healthier than chugging a mini bottle of vodka.. but still it's an embarassing dirty little secret.

Still orange blossoms in Phoenix and desert rain in Tucson (not in Phoenix- it's different here) because it reminds me of "home." :)
